Think that you can run the company better than your boss, then try this business simulator out. In Capitalism you are a venture capitalist who have a lot of money but no where to put them. So you decide to start up a business and your goal is of course to end up with a profitable business, being able to buy up your competitors and also to be able to set away some money for yourself.

The Capitalism series is one of a few business simulators that you can learn something from. When playing the game you will at least fundamentally understand how a business works, how the stock and ownerships rights work and how you get raw materials.

As you already have understood this is a very advanced game, it comes with an extensive manual. There are a series of options and companies that you can start. For example you can start a logging company that eventually turns the logs into paper and sell the paper. You can also start a retail business in which you purchase products from suppliers and sell it in your stores. Despite these companies there are mining companies and some other options as well.

Unfourtantly you can’t start service related companies, this game is aimed at production and eventually selling the products. However to get your products sold you will need employees, here you set up different departments. For example a logistics department, a marketing department and so on. This is really a new twist in business simulators, or it was when Capitalism was released.

To love Capitalism you have to be interested in business and also entrepreneurship, the graphics are tacky and the sounds are not that great either, so you definitely need an interest in the subject so that you don’t get bored to death.

Capitalism does the job well providing a good business simulator for the people who want it. Actually the game still stands as a good sim even though it’s getting old.
