Actual Coach is a neat soccer managing simulator from Flamingo Software, does the game compare to the competition? Soccer managing simulators have been on the markets since the birth of advanced PC games. Actual Coach is one of those games you think will be like any other managing game. When first starting the game you are instantly struck by the extensive lists of teams you can choose to manage.

In the version we tested the whole English series were available from Premier League and down to the third. Not bad at all considering that other managing sims doesnít have that many teams. Actual Coach is however not much different from managing classics as Premier Manager. You do the basic stuff in Actual Coach, which means buying players, decide tactics and expanding the stadium.

There are several cups and tournaments you can play, besides the ordinary series you have cups like the UEFA, Intertoto Cup and the FA Cup. This means that your team will play teams from all over the world. Before playing a match you decide if your team should be aggressive, how much the should attack and with how much intensity they should play. This is done using three slider-bars, very simple, perhaps too simple since there are more tactics you can choose from that these three slider bars.

For example you canít decide more advanced tactics such as long-balls and cross passes. This makes the game a bit too boring, all you have to do is solve the riddle of the slider bars and you will practically win every game. I would have wanted more options here.

I know that in some managing simulators you are able to see the game as it is played. This feature is not available in Actual Coach. I donít think itís that important for the game though, itís a fun feature but not essential. Overall this game is fun to play, itís too simple to compete with the advanced simulators. For killing a boring day it does wonders.
