You are probably used to playing capture the flag if you play multiplayer shooter games. However have you ever done it in 2D and without a shot fired? Probably not, but here is your chance.

Capture the Flag is a 2D strategy game where your task is to capture the opponent team flag. However you do not know the location of the opponent flag so you have to explore the opponent territory to find it. To explore you move around a couple of figures, the figures are your team.

The only problem is that the opponent is on the lookout for your flag. Victory is achieved by capturing the flag before the opponent team captures yours.

Graphically the game is not that much, the 2D perspective of the game and the colors feels a bit old. But there is no problem seeing what the symbols stands for.

Carr Software does deserve credit for the controls which make the game very easy to learn and use. If you compare the controls in Capture the Flag to today’s strategy games Capture the Flag wins in many cases.

The core of the game is to develop a good strategy to defend your flag and at the same time capture the enemy’s. This is actually quite challenging so you really have to use your intelligence to divide resources and cover as much ground as you can, fast.

When it comes to sound the game has just some thumps when you move. It’s a huge disappointment, but considering the age of the game and that resources for making sound back then was hard to come by I will be lenient.

Overall Capture the Flag is a bit aged, but it still has some strategic elements, which are quite interesting. The game is fun for the strategy buffs out there that wants something different.
