Everyone has a special game that they remember since way back. Mine is the adventure game Maniac Mansion from Lucas Arts. Now it has been released in an enhanced deluxe version.

<PThe game is perhaps one of the most notorious adventure game ever released. A cute cheerleader named Sandy has been kidnapped by an evil mad scientist, Dr Fred. Dr Fred has taken Sandy to his scary mansion and her boyfriend Dave and two other teenagers make a rescue attempt.


You can browse through seven different teenagers and select two to take with you. They all have weaknesses and strengths. I think this is a nice feature, usually adventure games just include one or two characters but here you really can experiment some.


Maniac Mansion Deluxe is basically getting through a Mansion, however the plot thickens as you do so and you find out that Dr Fred is planning to take over the world. Lucas Arts choose to unveil the plot using cut scenes in the game, I think it works pretty good but it would have been better if the player did the unveiling.


Playing the game is really like playing any other adventure game. You collect keys and objects and use them. Nothing really special there but the game is so much more.


The puzzles in Maniac Mansion are not incredibly hard, they are average to solve and I believe that Lucas Arts really have managed to balance the puzzles well. However sometimes the puzzles are simply so unrealistic that it
