Some people say that love is the strongest motivation for people. That can be seen in this game's story.

Pow Pow and his girlfriend Mai Mei finds an artefact that creates another dimension, in the new dimension Pow Pow and Mai Mei find themselves on opposite sides of the world. So they have to go through the new world to find each other.

To communicate with each other they have PDAs. As you navigate Pow Pow your PDA will start ringing and Mai Mei wants something. It’s a good idea since the story unfolds as you play, but imagine trying to jump between blocks and then you get distracted by the PDA you will fall flat.

The visuals in the game are heavily inspired by Japanese manga, and the intro is really nice looking even though the dialogue isn’t that natural. Also the main character, Pow Pow is portraid  in a very neat manga style.

Pow Pow’s Great Adventure is a platform game in 3D, that is the landscape and characters are in 3D. The three dimensional graphics are really nice and cute. Sometimes you might feel that the graphics are too cute. There are several different environments such as forest, desert and winter. they provide some diversity in the game, which is nice.

The game is somewhat suitable for children since the enemies in the game are not that frightening. During the game you will encounter several bosses, some of them are really hard to take on.

A problem in Pow Pow’s Great Adventure is that the controls are very inexact. There is no real telling on how fast you are running or if you will make a certain jump until you have done it. The 3D graphics can also fool you at times, especially when jumping on enemies (that’s they way you get rid of them). Sometimes you will end up right in front of the enemy instead of on top of him.

Pow Pow’s Great Adventure is a nice platform game, however the PDA is more of a distraction than a real help. The controls can really upset you at times, but the game has depth and a pretty good story.
