3D war games are extremely popular these days. Medal of Honor: Allied Assault will take you through World War 2 as an US Army Ranger, be prepared for loads of fun.

In the game you are Lt Mike Powell a newly recruited Ranger with lots of skills. You have been attached to a special intelligence bureau performing tough operations, often behind enemy lines

The game takes off in 1942 when you are sent to North Africa, however the game will mainly take place in France and Germany. 2015 could have easily just made a game about France and Germany so they should have credits for creating more diversity in the game.

Medal of Honor really features great environments and missions. I especially love the D-Day mission, which almost feels like the real thing. The mission is extremely hard and the German machine guns easily mow you down if you take one step in the wrong direction.

As the game is a first person shooter there is naturally loads and loads of actions. There is hardly a minute in the game where something isn’t happening, so it’s very intense, as it should be.

The enemies you will encounter are German soldiers equipped with different kinds of weaponry, unfriendly and hungry German dogs and the occasional Panzer tank. Personally I think the AI is just great. For example if you are in a forest you and get shot at, the enemy will also release the dogs so you have two problems worrying about.

Also if you have the superiority in firepower the German forces will retreat and regroup. If you just kill them like flies they will flee in panic.

2015 have really captured urban fighting well. It’s quite common for you to meet German troops just around a normal street corner, as it is in real urban fighting. Also you constantly get shot at by snipers, which is a pain in the butt. Finding the snipers usually takes some time and can slow you down dramatically.

The sound effects really deserve some mentioning. Your own weaponry really have great sound effects, but the background sounds of fighting is really great and places you on the frontlines during that time.

I can with joy recommend Medal of Honor to anybody who loves war games and first person shooters. There are perhaps some players who think that the game lacks adventure elements, and that’s true. But the action elements are even better and should suit most action players just fine
